Any Topic: Thanksgiving

This past Sunday my church held its annual Thanksgiving dinner. There is a program put on by some of the young children in the church, there is a message given by the pastor, and then there is the dinner. Everyone brought a meal and a dessert, so there was a plethora of food to choose from which sounds awesome, right? Wrong, I had made up my mind that I did not want attend this dinner because I wanted to sit at home, be lazy, and watch TV. However, with my dad being out of town, my mom was going to be going alone and she was a little upset about it. So, I decided to man up and go just to make her happy, again, I still did not really want to go. We went and while we were there my bad attitude quickly started to change and I began thinking about  all of the great blessings I have in my life with my family being at the very top. My little sister decided to come after I told her that I was going and she had a great time as well. While we were sitting at the dinner table, we talked about things we were thankful for and it turned into a great experience that I got to share with my family. I was also skeptical about the food but I must say that it was extremely good! I am so happy that I ended up going, even with a bad attitude and no intention to praise Jesus, I was shown how lucky I am and how much I have to be thankful during this holiday season. God takes inopportune situations and makes them meaningful as well as special, so be ready even when you think it's impossible.
