Madison Setness- Communication

In class on November 6th we started to get into what communication means. Dr. Redick provided us with three different views that eventually melted into one. One definition was by Shannon a communication engineer who says communication is transition and reception of information. I.A. Richards a philosopher says its generation of meaning, while M. Griffin says it's management of messages for the purpose pf creating meaning. All together, the three have to do with "movement" of information/messages. Dr. Redick says meaning is a inter-subjective experience. To relate it to the trail "bodies move up the trial, talk between hikers, hikers communicate with the floura and fauna".
