I have really enjoyed being in Dr. Redick’s class this fall
semester, even though the first day I had to write a poem. That being said I
think I learned a lot about myself personal, and to me that’s what makes a good
class. Dr. Redick’s teaching style was really just laid back, and it made me
want to engage in thinking about prayer, communication, and pilgrimage. I loved
seeing the pictures of hikes, and the landscape. I felt like I got some sense
of the aweness that I could experience. I really got a new appcreation of
nature in this class. For so long I considered nature to this over grown
wilderness that you could get easily lost in. Now I understand it as creation,
where you can grow spiritual in it. I now have the urge to go on a hike or some
sort of pilgrimage. I want to use what I have learned in class, and use it in a
long distance hike. I really enjoyed seeing the pictures Dr. Redick took as
well. Being able to watch a picture slide show to learn about the class was a
huge bonus.
