Mitchell Genovese Landscapes of the Sacred 2

In the Landscapes of the Sacred they talk about the ordinary as the mask of the holy.  It makes sense because God does not have a face.  So people use masks to show what god looks like.  These masks tend to be in the form of sacred places.  And since sacred places are formed from normal ordinary places it would only make sense that eh masks are also ordinary.  I guess the only way we as humans can represent something that is so all powerful is with the creation that they have made.
