Colin Huber: Lion's Gate Bridge # 2

The same day our class took our trip to Lions Gate Bridge to reflect on the natural setting, I later took a late night bike ride to the bridge to blow off steam.  It was a particularly cold night for me, and by the time I had passed CNU I was freezing.  I decided to continue anyways and make it to see the James River at night.  The river at night its a beautifully open part of Newport News, and the horizon, between the sky and the water, is littered with far off blinking lights.  This area is one that I have found beneficial in releasing tension as it is so open compared to the tightly wound circuitry of Newport News.  Back to the bike ride though.  I was quite cold by the time I reached the bridge, and as I turned my last corner to reach the bridge I was hit my a blast of warm air.  It felt amazing!  The warm water from the river was heating up the breeze blowing back onto land.  I ended up spending about an house racing up and down the bridge in the warm weather pocket.  It was one of those time where place becomes chora, it becomes meaningful.  I also noticed that time slowed down, or my perception of time slowed down at least.
