Madison Setness- Lane Reading

In Lane's book the Landscapes of the Sacred, Lane discusses the four axioms. The first axiom being that sacred places are not chosen, but the sacred place chooses itself. The second axiom being that ordinary places are ritually made extraordinary. The third being that sacred places can be tread upon without being entered. The fourth and last axiom being that sacred places can be focused on one central place but can be casted upon universally. With these four axioms we are able to define a sacred place.
