“All sites of pilgrimage have
this in common: they are believed to be places where miracles once happened,
still happen, and may happen again.” So does this mean that this is a
requirement for a place of pilgrimage to be? Also what is defined as a miracle?
I do think that this idea of miracles happening at a holy site gives the site
its religious identity, but I don’t think this would make or break a site.
Also, I like the idea that pilgrimage sites have stuff in common, but also have
stuff unique specific to them. The idea of miracles is hard to understand,
because has a modern day miracle occurred?
