Drew Carpenter - Phenomenology of Prayer 1
The first time I prayed was in third grade. My mother's father had passed away and I remember the extreme angst on my mother's face. I prayed to God that everything would be okay and that her father would rest peacefully. I was upset that God did not respond to me and my mother was grieving. Since that time I have learned the importance of prayer and how to use it effectively when dealing with stressful situations and conflicts. In Phenomenology of Prayer, the author discusses why silence in prayer is okay. Sometimes it is important to not only talk to God but to also listen.
