One of the major things that stuck out to me immediately when reading this book was the first axiom for the study of sacred place. The first axiom is that sacred place is not chosen, it chooses. At first I was confused on how a sacred place can choose a person. However, I feel that the author is not saying that the environment chose the person, but that God just chose to reveal himself in this particular place.
