Eric Sutton-The Nolan Trail
I think many people take for granted just how fascinating it is to watch water rise and fall. It's calming to listen to and watch, but do we actually stop and think about why? Why is that sound something that can put us at ease? I'm sure it has something to do with the rhythmic nature. Maybe subconsciously we remember that water is what makes up most of our bodies and so we feel connected. In that light, I guess we can feel connected to it. Water calms us, but then if we think about the contrasting view, water can do so much damage. Tons of people have been killed because of water. Structures have been destroyed because of it. It does so much damage, but we still find it calming. I can't fathom how we get to this point. How something so destructive can also be one of the things we can't live without and one of the most calming things to listen to? Whatever the answer, I will still find it calming, like most people do.
