Part of experiencing the sacred, also means being able to communicate with it.  In the introduction, the authors note that prayer deepens our experience.  The divine is to be sought by people and through that communication can fester.  While communication can come from worship, prayer is more private and can give the individual an experience that is completely their own.  Prayer has the power to make a person more fulfilled and embrace the divine to a higher degree.  Thus, as the authors also note, prayer must be part of all of our activities to help us along.  Then the internalized feeling can be experienced even more thoroughly.  The communication that come through prayer not only helps man connect to the divine, it also helps man figure out their own needs.  The reflective nature of a prayer can often lead to insight, which is what can make the experience even more significant.
