Jake Andrich- "The Impact of Hiking"
Some people get so into hiking that if they have
been hiking for a long period of time and they have to stop due to injury, it’s
just the worst feeling in the world for them.
“Haven’t spent much time hiking the past few days, not great for my mood
(Matthews, Barbara. Waiting Impatiently).”
This quote is by a hiker who is actually currently hiking the
Appalachian Trail right now.
Unfortunately she suffered an injury and has to take a break from
hiking. She mentions that it’s not great
for her mood, proving my point that people get so attached to the Appalachian
Trail and hiking in general, that if they have to stop for an unfortunate reason, it just
kills them.
