Collin Wilber - Phenomenology of Prayer #2

For prayer to mean something, it must go beyond normal conversation. It must go beyond praying for something only when you need something or when you want something. Prayer is much more than simply asking for something that you think you need in your life. Your prayer should include what Benson refers to as disinterested delight. You should notice the beauty of what your God does for you and thank your God for it and search for nothing in return. You should also be silent in order to hear your God. Focus on the prayer and be completely present within it.
