Harley Guenther- Nature #1

The waves lapping at the shoreline and it is barely noticeable. There are little ripples off shore. Little pieces of litter and trash cover the shore. Next to me and ass far as the eye can see are the fallen trees of ages past. As I look around on the ground floor around me, I realize that the plants are preparing for winter, where as the leaves create a brownish-reddish quilt over the grass. I glance to my left and standing lifeless is a recently dead pine tree. It was naked of all of its pines and looking dreary. Off in the distance, I can make out the faint sound of a dog squeezing out one bark after another.
