Harley Guenther- The Phenomenology of Prayer #2- Praise--Pure and Personal?

Is prayer pure or personal? When I say personal I mean selfish. Do we pray more for ourselves or for others? Others ask us to pray for their family and friend, do we or do we just say we will. To become better people we must learn to balance being selfish and putting other people before ourselves. If we do not balance them, then we need to at least pray more for other, instead of praying more for ourselves. When we pray to God, do not say "please God ... for me". We nee to speak to God like this, "Please save the thousands of people that are dying for starvation everyday." If we pray like that every time, we will all be worthy people.
